Despite having fantastic stats this season, Marcus Rashford has parted ways with Barcelona. He was on loan at Barca in 2025/2026 season.

Why Rashford parted ways with Barca

According to reports, Barca had a chance to buy him for around €26 million, which was the buy option for him to permanently become Barcelona's player. The club (Barcelona) earlier today declared that it is not going to sign Marcus. It's so unfortunate since fans anticipated that Barca will pay this fee until today when Barca decided not to.

It's evident that after Barca closed doors to Rashford, the player went ahead and deleted Barcelona from his bio. To all his fans, this was a message that signified that it's over between him and Barcelona.

Rashford back to Old Trafford updates

According to Fabrizio Romano, football analyst, Marcus Rashford said goodbye to Barcelona. "Extremely grateful to everyone at the club for turning my time here into a positive and unforgettable experience," Rashford said.

As reported late June 2026, Manchester United has accepted Rashford back to the team. According to the club's reports, the player will have talks with the current manager, Michael Carrick regarding his future. This will determine whether the club will retain him or he'll have to consider a move to another club.

In an interview during the World Cup, Marcus said, "I was very clear...I wanted any move done before the World Cup. If it's not, I want it to wait until after. I want to be fully present in the moment. We are fighting for something special."

Interests from other clubs

Barcelona wanted to retain Rashford on loan terms, Marcus is not interested since he anticipated the club to fully sign him from the United. There has not been any official information on any club interested in Marcus Rashford. Since player signings are still ongoing in all top leagues, there can be a bid from clubs to sign him.

What next?

The England forward will have to play in his boyhood club, Manchester United for the coming season if no other club goes for him. Manchester United still retains €40 million as the official bid worth of the player.

Every football fan witnessed how good the Manchester United star was this season. He proved that he can perform better not only in English Premier League buta also in other leagues like La Liga.
