Some Iranian Supporters Sneak Sun and Lion Flag Into SoFi Stadium Regardless of FIFA Ban

Earlier today, in SoFi Stadium which is temporarily named Los Angeles Stadium by FIFA in 2026 world cup, Iran-American fans staged protests. Iran faced New Zealand team.

Iranian fans defy FIFA 

Despite FIFA banning the entry of Sun and Lion flag weeks ago before the world cup, some Iranian-American fans sneaked to the stadium with the flag. FIFA had termed the flag a political symbol and it had no place in international football.

For the protesters, the ban hit hard. In an interview with a correspondent, one of the protestors said ,"The flag is very important to us, we have kept it for 47yrs."

Although the Sun and Lion symbol flag is not the current official flag for Iran, it's a centuries old flag which symbolize opposition to Iran Islamic government regime.

Despite the chaos inside the stadium, many fans seemed to support Iran team which finally drew 2-2 score again New Zealand.

Court Accepts Aden Duale's Apology in Laikipia Airbase Contempt Case
