Why Spain outplay France Again
From the 1st minute of the match, Spain were evident that they controlled the midfield with the France side relying on count-attacks. With this, Spain played smart, although both teams had same ball possession.
France side lost control after their star player, Micheal Olise was marked by the opponents and couldn't have much touches of the ball. Luis De La Fuete, Spain's manager was wise enough to use this tactic to do away with Olise's magic. Spain knew well that the France and Bayern Munich winger could play magic passes anytime to his teammates if not marked.
Apart from ball control, Mbappe's side faced a disappointing moment in the 29th minute, after their experienced defender, William Saliba developed back pain and was subbed off.
The match seemed of much pressure from both sides in the first half. Spain and Real Sociedad forward, Oyarzabal scored a penalty goal in 21st minute. This was after a foul committed to Lamine Yamal by Digne of France. The Spain striker now has 5 goals. The goal against France is his first penalty goal in 2026 World Cup tournament.
The second half was less of much pressure. In 57th minute, Pedro Porro of Spain created a chance and scored a great goal thus doubling the score for his team. The goal was his second World Cup goal after a beautiful header against Austria in the round of 32.
From Porro's goal, Spain gained more courage to the game and in the 60th minute, Lamine Yamal scored but unfortunately, the goal was ruled offside.
Kylian Mbappe of France tried hard to find the net but it was impossible. Spain defended well as a team and didn't allow him to have the ball. Although he was ruled offside 3 times, Mbappe has several shots but were saved by Spain's goal keeper, Unai Simon.
